Just before 8 a.m. Dec. 27, Loudoun County Fire and Rescue units were dispatched to a reported fire alarm at a townhouse in the 43000 block of Chokeberry Square in Ashburn. Upon arrival, firefighters heard smoke alarms and saw smoke inside a middle unit townhouse with fire located on the first floor. Additional units were requested and the call was upgraded to a structure fire.

The fire was quickly extinguished, with no extension into adjoining homes. Units from Ashburn, Lansdowne, Moorefield, Leesburg, Kincora and Sterling Park responded to the incident.
The Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire. The initial estimate of damages has been set at $100,000.
