    Jill Devine

Jill grew up in Northern Virginia, graduating from Herndon High School and later majoring in English and writing at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va. College internships at WMAL radio’s programming department in Washington, D.C., and the Fredericksburg Times magazine fueled her interest in reporting on local news and events. After graduation, she worked as a staff writer for The Connection newspaper in Reston, where she wrote the weekly dining out and community events columns, as well as feature stories. She supplemented her education with courses at George Washington University in the Publications Specialist Certificate Program, and went on to work for the National Contract Management Association in McLean, VA, as an editor for NCMA’s monthly magazine and quarterly journal. She and her husband Paul raised their four children in Sterling, where she has worked as a kindergarten teaching assistant for many years. She still loves to write stories about her community, and always looks at events, venues, and issues through the lens of a mother and local citizen.
