Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-10th) and her Democrat opponent, Luann Bennett, will debate on October 6 at The National Conference Center in Lansdowne, VA. The debate will be hosted by the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce, which has partnered with the Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Greater Reston, Dulles Regional and Prince William County chambers of commerce for the event.
Candidates will be interviewed on national and regional issues by a panel of business leaders, according to the Chamber. The event is scheduled from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., and reservations are encouraged.
The 10th Congressional District includes Loudoun, Clarke and Frederick counties as well as the cities of Manassas, Manassas Park and Winchester, and portions of Fairfax and Prince William counties. Comstock was elected in 2014 with 56.5 percent of the vote, succeeding Republican Frank Wolf, who held the seat for 34 years. Bennett has never held political office, whereas Comstock was previously a member of the Virginia House of Delegates.
Democrats have made the 10th District seat one of their top targets in the nation.
