Ground Broken for New Tech Academy

Ground Broken for New Tech Academy

Loudoun County is sponsoring a ground-breaking for the Academies of Loudoun at 1 p.m. Friday, June 17.

The Loudoun County School Board approved plans for the facility in Feb. 2014. Once complete, the academies will provide a center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in traditional and non-traditional classroom settings. The facility will be a hub for online courses and expand offerings available to high school students.

The Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) will be providing shuttle service to the location from noon to 12:45 p.m. Shuttles will leave from the LCPS Administration Building, 21000 Education Court, Ashburn. The project is expected to be finished by the start of the 2018-19 school year.
