Inova Offering Latest “Ask the Expert” Lectures

As part of its free “Ask the Expert” series, Inova Loudoun Hospital will host three lectures in May:

• “Demystifying Common Foot and Ankle Conditions” on Wednesday, May 17 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.
The human foot is capable of handling hundreds of tons of force, but every day stresses puts feet at high risk of injury. Many suffer from sore, achy feet – often resulting from common foot problems like bunions, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis and plantar warts. Board Certified Podiatrist Dr. Gary Kugler will discus information, and misinformation, on common foot and ankle conditions millions suffer from every day.

• “Breast Cancer: What you Need to Know when the Rules Keep Changing” on Monday, May 22 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Many have heard that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. What does this statement really mean? Board Certified, breast-only surgeon Dr. Virginia Chiantella will review questions women can ask their doctors to help determine risk, how to how to navigate the sometimes conflicting issues of when and how to be screened and cancer management.

• “Treatment Options for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)” on Tuesday, May 23 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.
This lecture evaluates the difference between PAD, blocked arteries, and claudication. More importantly, it will explain how these conditions should be treated and managed. Board Certified Vascular Interventional Radiologist Dr. Salman Mufti and Board Certified Vascular Surgeon Dr. Reagan Quan will discuss the latest advances in minimally-invasive endovascular interventions and surgical options.

All three lectures will be held at Inova Loudoun Hospital, 44045 Riverside Parkway, Leesburg, in Conference Rooms A&B near the South Lobby entrance. Participants are asked to enter through the South Lobby. On-site parking and valet parking services are both available free of charge.

Participation is free but seating is limited. To register visit inova.org/AskTheExpert or call 1.855.MY.INOVA (855.694.6682).
