LCSO Investigating Sexual Assault in Chantilly Area

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred the afternoon of May 15 in the Chantilly area.

The victim, an adult female, was walking on a path in the area of Eastgate View Drive around 12:23 p.m.  As she continued down the sidewalk and onto a bike path, the victim observed an unknown man who appeared to be following her as she approached the area of Tall Cedars Parkway and Edgewater Street, LCSO officials said.

The subject grabbed her backside. The woman screamed, turned and saw the man smile with a large grin and wide eyes before walking away. The man fled the area as the woman called law enforcement. The suspect was last seen by the victim running south on Edgewater Street.

Deputies canvassed the area but did not find the suspect.

Detectives released a composite sketch of the suspect as well as a picture of the vehicle the suspect is believed to have been using. The vehicle is described as a silver Honda Civic. The victim described the suspect as a Black man in his early 20’s, about 6’ tall with a thin build, perfectly aligned yellow teeth with dark gums and a black mole under his eye. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with a black Nike swoosh symbol, and the hood up to partially obscure his face. Suspect was also wearing black shorts and black crew length socks, according to the victim.
