Leesburg Police Searching for Suspect in Abduction, Robbery

Victorious Minter, pictured, is a suspect in two crimes committed in the past day.

The Leesburg Police Department (LPD) is still searching for a suspect in an abduction and attempted robbery that occurred in the Town in the past 24 hours.

The suspect, 21-year-old Victorious Minter of Leesburg, is considered armed and dangerous and is a known gang member, according to the LPD. He has been known by the department for several years for his possible involvement in criminal activities and is believed to potentially be affiliated with the Bloods street gang, said LPD Major Vanessa Grigsby.

Shortly before 6 p.m. on March 14, LPD officers responded to the 1400 block of Campbell Court in reference to a possible abduction.  The victim alleged that he was forced into a vehicle but was later able to jump out of it while it was moving and call for help.

Investigators later identified and located two suspects along with the vehicle used in the abduction, according to a LPD release. The first suspect was taken into custody along with a female companion, but the second suspect was able to avoid apprehension.

During the ensuing search for the second suspect, a 911 caller reported a robbery at the Exxon gas station located in the 900 block of Edwards Ferry Road. Responding officers later determined that the suspect had attempted to rob the store but fled prior to their arrival. A K9 track from a Fairfax County Police Department bloodhound yielded negative results.

The Leesburg Criminal Investigation Section is investigating the incident and asking anyone with information to contact them at 703-771-4500.
