A Herndon man was arrested this week and accused of stealing one automobile and damaging another while driving the first.
Brandon Hernandez, 18, of Herndon, was arrested and charged with public intoxication, underage possession of alcohol and hindering a police investigation.
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle with the keys in it was stolen from the 46000 block of Stonehelm Court in Sterling. That vehicle then struck a parked vehicle nearby and also struck several mailboxes throughout the neighborhood.
The vehicle was found with the engine still running in a driveway on Birchfield Court.
Deputies found Hernandez at Hampshire Station Drive and Cascades Parkway and took him into custody.
Hernandez was released from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a personal recognizance bond.
