Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS) will waive all pet adoption fees for veterans and active duty military over Veterans Day weekend, Nov. 12-13.
“We want to show our appreciation for the heroes of our country,” said Nicole Falceto, Community Relations Manager for LCAS. “They have given so much for our nation and we hope this promotion can help unite homeless pets and loving families.”
Waived fee adoptions for veterans and military members applies at the Loudoun County Animal Shelter, 39820 Charles Town Pike, Waterford, as well as for adoptions from the shelter’s Mobile Adoption Bus.
The bus will be at two locations this weekend:
Nov. 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Holiday Bazaar, 38174 W. Colonial Highway, Hamilton
Nov. 13 from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m., Winery 32, 15066 Limestone School Road, Leesburg
All dogs and cats adopted from LCAS are spayed or neutered, have age appropriate vaccinations, and leave with a registered microchip.
The shelter frequently has other pets available for adoption including hamsters, guinea pigs, reptiles, rabbits, other small pets and livestock. The standard adoption screening process still applies during this promotion and most adoptions can be completed on the same day.
In observance of Veterans Day, Loudoun County Animal Services will be closed Nov 11. Adoption hours on Saturday and Sunday are 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A listing of all operating hours and available pets is available at www.loudoun.gov/animals.
