SafeTrack, Metro rail’s year-long maintenance and repairs initiative, is ending its latest Safety Surge a day early. Subsequently, Loudoun County will resume its normal bus schedule beginning on Dec. 21.
As part of SafteTrack, the Metro system is undergoing significant repairs and updates. The current Safety Surge impacted parts of the Silver Line, which has a western terminus in Reston. This in turn impacted Loudoun County commuters by reducing the frequencies of trains from the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station from about every six minutes to about every 20 minutes.
