Update: LCSO Releases Sketch of Suspect in Attempted Sexual Assault

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has released a composite sketch of one of two suspects involved in an Aug. 17 attempted sexual assault on the Washington and Old Dominion Trail.

On Aug. 23, the adult female victim reported that on August 17 she was walking on the trail just east of Sterling Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. when two black men exited a wooded area and attacked her. The men grabbed her and pulled at her clothing.

The suspects fled the scene after a cyclist rode by the area. The suspect in the composite sketch was described as a black man, 6’2” tall, with a thin build, black curly hair and was wearing a black shirt. The second suspect was also described as a black man, slightly shorter than the first. He also had a thin build and black curly hair and was wearing a gray shirt. Both suspects were said to be in their 30’s.

There is no indication at this time that this case is related to an attempted assault that occurred this week on the W&OD trail in Leesburg.

Anyone who witnessed the attempted assault or have any information on the identity of the suspects are asked to contact Detective P. Beaver of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 703-777-0475.
