The Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital has confirmed that the 79th Annual Ladies Board Rummage Sale was yet another record year with gross sales of more than $305,000. An estimated 6,000 shoppers attended the Saturday–Sunday event held at Morven Park Equestrian Center. Proceeds benefit Inova Loudoun Hospital and the Ladies Board Nursing Scholarship Fund.
“We want to offer a heartfelt thank you to all who worked so diligently to make the Sale a success. From community volunteers to student groups and of course our Ladies Board members…we couldn’t have done it without each and every one,” said Barb McNeil, sale chairman. “I hope to see everyone next year at the 80th-anniversary sale.” Dates for the 2018 sale are October 20 and 21.
Approximately 700 volunteers helped to unload, stage and sell 11 tractor-trailer loads of donated goods. The collection is year-round, and the organizers will begin accepting donations in January for the 2018 sale.
The Ladies Board raises several hundred thousand dollars each year to support special needs equipment at Inova Loudoun Hospital and has pledged $1 million for the Cornwall Cares project. The Ladies Board awards more than $100,000 annually in nursing scholarships.
