Edgar M. Vargas, who was wanted by Loudoun County authorities in connection with a July 29 shooting at an Ashburn apartment complex, has been arrested in Georgia.
According to information from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Vargas, 29, of Ashburn, was wanted on charges of aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony after a shooting in the 21000 block of Green Stable Square in Ashburn.
After a verbal argument with another man, Vargas shot the victim in the abdominal area and fled the scene. The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Vargas was apprehended Oct. 23 by the Hinesville Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service. He is being held pending extradition to Virginia.
