“We can be heroes, just for one day.”

You can dress up like your favorite superhero and become a real hero in your community by registering for the SuperHero 5k Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run May 20.

The event, sponsored by the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce and Inova Medical Group, is sponsoring the fourth annual event at The National, 18980 Upper Belmonst Place in Lansdowne.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to It Takes a Village, Baby!, a Loudoun County-based non-profit agency that provides essential baby gear, supplies and resources to families in need.

Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. The 5k run begins at 8:30, the walk will start at 8:35 and the Kids Villain Chase is scheduled for 9:30.

The event is geared toward families, with strollers and pets welcome.

Tickets for the 5k run and walk are $30 for Loudoun Chamber members and $35 for non-members. Tickets for the Kinds Villain Fun run (for ages 5 through 11) are $15.

All 5k participants who register by April 30 will receive a commemorative race t-shirt. T-Shirts are not guaranteed if people register after April 30.
