St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Purcellville has been a partner in giving blood since 1993.
When the parish holds one of its regular blood drives Sunday (Sept. 23), it will be more than just another example of the members rolling up their sleeves to provide a crucial medical component.
To commemorate 25 years of giving, Inova Blood Donor Services will be on hand to present a plaque to St. Francis, honoring its members for the more than 800 gallons donated.
The blood drive is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Purcellville Safety Center, 500 Maple Avenue. The plaque presentation, hosted by Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company No. 2, is at 10 a.m.
