Christmas in Purcellville Parade Set for Dec. 15 With Route Change

Purcellville’s annual Christmas in Purcellville Parade is scheduled to begin at noon on Dec. 15.

A new route will be used for the 15th annual parade. In an effort to improve the safety and efficiency of the parade, the new route will start at Loudoun Valley High School on North Maple Avenue, turn right onto Main Street, then turn right onto 21st Street. The official end of the parade is the Purcellville Train Station, although all participants will continue to the Cardinal Concrete Plant for parent pick-up and to dismantle floats.

Road closures will begin 11:45 a.m. as follows:

  • 21st Street, from Ashleigh to Main Street.
  • 23rd Street, Main Street and North Maple Avenue.
  • 21st Street at O Street.

Main Sreet will be closed at Hatcher, Nursery Avenue, 18th, 16th and 12th streets at 11:55 a.m.

Traffic will return to normal about 1:30 p.m., when the parade is scheduled to end.
