Eight-Year-Old Hit By Car in Sterling

An eight-year-old boy is in stable condition after being hit by a car.

Shortly after 4 p.m. May 30, a driver was traveling on Mountain Laurel Terrace when they struck an 8-year-old child on a child sized dirt bike, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office officials said.

A preliminary investigation determined the boy came off the sidewalk, crossing over Mountain Laurel Terrace and did not stop before he was struck by the vehicle. The driver didn’t see the boy, who came off the sidewalk as the car was coming into the roadway, LCSO Public Information Officer Aleksandra Kowalski said.

The driver remained on scene after the crash. The boy was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he is in stable condition. The crash remains under investigation.
