Dog 5K-9 Walk and Swim, Loudoun Pet Expo Scheduled Sept. 9 at Franklin Park

What better way is there to top off a walk or jog with your four-legged friend than the two of you cooling off with a refreshing dip in the pool.

That is exactly what is planned Sunday (Sept. 9) with the Dog 5K-9 Walk and Swim at Franklin Park in Purcellville. The first walk and swim starts at 9 a.m. (check-in begins at 8:30) and the second one starts at noon (check-in at 11:30 a.m.).

The Dog 5K-9 Walk and Swim is part of a full day activities with the fourth annual Loudoun Pet Expo. That event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Franklin Park and features a variety of activities for pets and their special people.

There will be music by William White, pet authors Cara Sue Achterberg and CQ Wilder, the Wildlife Ambassadors with their amazing animals, face-painting, food vendors and more. For more information, visit loudounpetexpo.com.

A Dog Swim is also scheduled Saturday (Sept. 8) at Lovettsville Community Pool.
The event is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. at 57 E. Board Way in Lovettsville. Registration is not necessary, but there is a $5 charge and dogs must have a county dog license.
