‘Drink in the Good Life’ With To-Go Drinks as of Nov. 8 Village at Leesburg

Beginning Nov. 8, visitors will be able to “Drink in the Good Life” at the Village of Leesburg.

The new program will allow visitors to enjoy alcoholic beverages purchased at designated Village of Leesburg businesses in common areas through the development and in other approved business locations.

An upgraded ABC license permits the “Drink in the Good Life” program.

Beginning Nov. 8, visitors can order a glass of wine, beer or cocktail from 5 Tara, BurgerFi, Eggspectation, Firebirds, Plaza Azteca, The Conche or Travinia and ask for it to go. The bartender will serve the beverage in a disposable Drink in the Good Life cup, allowing the customer to roam the Village shopping, relaxing by the fountain or enjoying one the many events. The same policy will apply at Vino Bistro and ChefScape when they open in the near future.

Maps have been placed around the Village indicating areas in which the beverages are approved and the outside boundaries of the development. Bubbleology, G5 Salon, Luv2Play, Potomac River Running, Rocket Fizz and Spokes Etc. are businesses where to-go drinks are allowed. Other businesses will have a “No Alcohol Permitted” sign posted outside.

Visitors are not allowed to bring their own alcohol into Village at Leesburg or fill a Drink in the Good Life cup with their own alcohol.

A new container is required, by law, each time another beverage is purchased. The cups have the restaurant logo on them to indicate where the drink was purchased.

To-go beverages are not allowed to travel from one restaurant to another (including patios). Visitors must finish or discard their drinks before entering another restaurant. Once a customer leave the restaurant with their to-go cup, they cannot take the same cup back into the restaurant where it was purchased.

The new program arrives just in time for the ninth annual Tree Lighting Festival, which is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 17. The free festivities include horse-drawn carriage rides, a capella musical performances by Clear Harmonies, holiday characters, visits with Santa Claus, gingerbread house making with the Conche, glow in the dark activities and treats after dark.

The free horse-drawn carriage rides will run from 3 to 9pm. Santa arrives by horse-drawn carriage to light the spectacular musical tree. This five-story tall tree has a snowfall topper and more than 15,000 dazzling lights that perform daily music and light shows.
