A 49-year-old Gainesville woman was killed Nov. 14 when her Honda Civic crossed into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.
The woman, whos name was not released as of Wednesday morning, was driving the 2003 Civic on Charles Town Pike (Route 9) near Hillsboro around 12:30 p.m. According to a release from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, the car first left the roadway for unknown reasons and then the driver apparently overcorrected into the path of the truck.
The driver of the truck, a 2009 Ford F250, was transported to the Landsdowne Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.
