Flood Warning In Effect Through 10:45 — Water Receding From Many Roads

The Flood Warning from the National Weather Service in Sterling for a wide area of Northern Virginia, including Loudoun County remains in effect until 10:45 tonight (July 25), but county officials are reporting that many roadways that were covered with water earlier are now clear.

Areas that have been declared clear include:

  • North Fleetwood Road in Aldie.
  • Route 50 at Stone Springs Boulevard.

The threat of flooding from heavy rain continues in Loudoun, Fairfax, Fauquier and Prince William counties, according to the NWS alert.

Drivers are advised to watch for standing water covering roadways. Motorists are reminded that most flood deaths occur in  vehicles.
