While Loudoun County residents eagerly await the complete of the Metro Silver Line all the way through to Dulles International Airport, the county is teaming with state and regional governments to make it easier for commuters to reach Metro stops in Fairfax County.
The Metro Connection services include routes traveling from Loudoun County to the Wiehle-Reston East (Silver Line) and the West Falls Church (Orange Line) Metro Stations.
Bus routes traveling to Wiehle-Reston East include all-day, local fixed routes 72, 83, 84 and peak period routes 87X, 88X, 921/922, 923/924, 925/926, 927/92 and 990-993.
Bus routes 901/902 travel from Loudoun County to the West Falls Church Metro station. All bus schedules can be viewed at loudoun.gov/bus-schedules.
The free bus rides are the first of the ISHARE66 Commuter Incentives designed to reduce traffic congestion and promote alternative modes of transportation through the Interstate 66 corridor.
The incentives are funded through the I-66 Commuter Choice Program, which is a partnership between the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, of which Loudoun is a member, and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Loudoun County will announce additional incentives for new carpools, new van pools and new commuter bus riders in the coming weeks.
