A Virginia Department of Transportation project beginning July 16 will require closing the right lane on Route 28 at Air and Space Museum Parkway.
Weather permitting, the lane closures will run from July 16 to 30 for pavement reconstruction.
The closure will run from just north of the Air and Space Museum Parkway interchange to just south of the interchange. The southbound collector-distributor road (the barrier-separated lanes to the right of the southbound Route 28 lanes) will be used as a temporary through lane to maintain four southbound lanes.
The exit to Air and Space Museum Parkway will remain open.
Drivers should expect delays, particularly during the morning and afternoon rushes, and are advised to use alternate routes.
