LCSO: Teacher Arrested for Public Intoxication, Possession at Sterling Elementary
A tip by school staff to a Loudoun County School Resource Officer led to the arrest Dec. 1 of a teacher for being drunk during school hours at Sterling Elementary School.
Claire M. Bucher, 25, of Potomac Fall, faces charges of public intoxication and possession of alcohol on school property.
The arrest was made after the school resource officer was notified by school personnel shortly before 2 p.m. that Bucher, a second-grade teacher, showed signs of being intoxicated.
During the course of the investigation it was determined that Bucher was intoxicated and had alcohol in her possession while on school property.
Bucher was charged with drunk in public and possessing or drinking an alcoholic beverage in a public school or on public school grounds during school hours.
Bucher was being held until sober at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
