Members of Leesburg’s Town Council held a ribbon cutting ceremony Jan. 7 at Studio Twenty8Fifty7, along with a contingent of friends, family and supporters. Located in the Crescent Place development, the boutique is owned by Jewell Green and Janice Harvey and will specialize in fashion, accessories and design, and plan to expand into floral.
“There are so many things on the footpath to get here,” Green said. “You’re going to be a part of this trail where you go around and find things that are new. It’s almost like bringing a little bit of the city to the town.”
Green, a long-time Leesburg resident, is the wife of former Washington Redskins hall of famer Darrel Green. Harvey is married to Ken Harvey, Green’s teammate with the Redskins, where he was a four-time Pro Bowler. The store takes its name from Green’s jersey number, 28, and Harvey’s, 57.
“The fact they chose Leesburg says a lot about Leesburg,” said Town Mayor Kelly Burk, who was on hand for the ribbon cutting. “We’re really excited, and we’re going to do everything we can to make sure they’re successful.”
