Leesburg Man Charged With Felony Malicious Wounding for Assault in One Loudoun

A Leesburg man was arrested today (Nov. 14) and charged with felony malicious wounding in connection with an assault from which the victim remains hospitalized in serious condition.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Dashawn L. Russell, 24, of Leesburg, is accused of the assault that took place about 1:30 a.m. outside a restaurant in One Loudoun. The victim was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries after the attack in the 20000 block of Exchange Street in Ashburn.

His status had been upgraded by Wednesday to serious-but-stable condition.

Russell was being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
