Loudoun County has announced four dates for its spring household hazardous waste collection events at various location around the county.
Events are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
The scheduled HHW events are:
- March 24: Leesburg Park and Ride, 19730 Sycolin Road in Leesburg.
- April 14: Harmony Park and Ride, 39464 East Colonial Highway in Hamilton.
- May 12: Ashburn North Park and Ride, 45151 Russell Branch Parkway in Ashburn.
- June 23: Freedom High School, 25450 Riding Center Drive in South Riding.
The county conducts several HHW collection events throughout the year to collect used and unwanted household hazardous materials such as gasoline, household and lawn chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs, and household (dry-cell) batteries.
There are limits of 15 gallons of of liquid HHW (container size may not exceed 5-gallons) and 40 pounds of solid HHW per household.
A hazardous waste management contractor comes to the county to accept and package the waste for shipment to an appropriate processing facility.
Waste should only be brought to the drop off sites on the scheduled dates, during the scheduled time frames. Please do not drop off waste at any unattended site.
