Loudoun Kids Celebrate Noon Year’s Eve at Local Salon

Little girls’ laughter filled Leesburg salon Sweet and Sassy at noon, New Year’s Eve. Twenty girls arrived at the salon Saturday morning to get their hair done, put on a fashion show and ride in a limo. At 1 p.m., 20 more arrived.

Sweet and Sassy owner Kevin Morel said this was the salon’s second year participating in Noon Year’s Eve. He created a second session at 1 p.m. because the 10 a.m. session filled up so quickly.

As it got closer and closer to noon, the girls and event organizers started a countdown. When noon struck, confetti fell from the ceiling of the party room. Then, the girls put on a fashion show.

“They’ve been dancing to the hits of 2016,” Morel said. “They’ll listen to one more song and then I’ll take them out in the limo.”

The bright pink Sweet and Sassy limo waited for the girls outside the store at the end of the event. Morel took half of the group around the Village at Leesburg while the other half ate snacks, and then they switched.

Sweet and Sassy has been at the Village at Leesburg for two years and is a retail salon and spa geared to children. The salon offers full service haircuts, manicures and pedicures. They also offer themed birthday parties, Morel said.
