Lovettsville Man, Juvenile Charged With Hitting Homes, Construction Equipment While Target Shooting

Two homes and a piece of construction equipment in the Taylorstown area were struck by stray gunfire Aug. 5, leading to the arrest Aug. 10 of one man and one juvenile.
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Nathan A. Lasher, 20, of Lovettsville, and a juvenile were identified on Sunday and determined to have been target shooting in the area of Loyalty Road south of Taylortown.
LCSO deputies responded to the 40800 block of Erin’s View Court around 4:51 p.m. on Aug. 5 for a report of gunfire.  The victims reported they were inside their residence when their home was struck by two discharged rounds from a firearm.  During a follow-up investigation, an additional home was discovered damaged in the 14000 block of Courtney Meadow Place, as well as a piece of construction equipment at a nearby construction site.
Investigators determined that Lasher and the juvenile fired the rounds while target shooting on an open target area with limited safety precautions and visible homes in the distance.
Lasher was charged with reckless handling of a firearm. The juvenile is also facing a petition for reckless handling of a firearm. The name of the juvenile was not released.
Lasher was released from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a personal recognizance bond.
