Maryland Man Charged After Route 7 Crash

Route 7 westbound by Route 9 was backed up for hours the afternoon of April 18 after a tractor trailer crashed after hitting a guard rail.

Richard M. Davini II, of Maryland, was charged with a DUI by Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) deputies, according to LCSO officials. He was traveling westbound on Route 7 at about 12:56 p.m. when he hit the guard rail. The tractor trailer continued up the embankment before rolling onto its side.

According to witnesses, Davini was driving erratically prior the crash.

He is being held at the Loudoun Adult Detention Center.
