A full day of music, food and refreshments for the whole family May 19 will benefit the programs of the Arc of Loudoun.
Music at the Manor is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Paxton Manor in Leesburg. Proceeds from the festival go to support Arc of Loudoun’s programs, which help integrate, educate and advocate for people with disabilities on the Paxton Manor campus.
Admission is free, but there are VIP tickets available for $20, which include two drink tickets and access to the VIP Hospitality Suite.
The music lineup, which features local performers in various genres, is scheduled as follows:
11 a.m.-noon: Rikki J and the Blue Rhythm
12:30-1:30 p.m.: Willie White
2-3 p.m.: Never Born To Follow
3-3:30 p.m.: Jack Squared.
3:30-4:30 p.m.: Stone Cold
5-6 p.m.: Juliana MacDowell.
6:30-7:45 p.m.: The Voodoo Blues.
Food and drinks from local businesses will be available for purchase, including Tarara Winery, Old Ox Brewery, Jambalaya Bros. and Paisano’s Pizza. Fleetwood Farm Winery will provide wine tastings (21 and older only).
Raffle tickets will be on sale for prizes from local merchants such as Be Beauty, Burger Fi, Paisano’s Pizza, Copperwood Tavern, and 5 Tara. The event will also feature kid’s activities, All Star Comic Con superheroes from the DC and Marvel Universe, and vendors selling hand-crafted items and baked goods.
Arc of Loudoun Programs at Paxton Campus include:
ALLY – A Life Like Yours – counsels and advocates for families of people with disabilities. ALLY programs are the main part – in most cases the only offering – at the 700 Arc affiliates around the nation.
Aurora School — provides one-on-one educational opportunities for children with pronounced disabilities, such as Autism. The schools has students that have referred from Loudoun County Public Schools and several other Northern Virginia districts.
The Aurora Behavior Clinic — provides individualized therapeutic options for children with autism and other related disabilities that are not enrolled full-time in Aurora School. The clinic utilizes specialized curriculum focused on verbal behavior and increasing social interactions.
The Open Door Learning Center — is a preschool/kindergarten program that integrates children with and without disabilities.
Ability Fitness Center — the newest program – is a therapeutic fitness and wellness center for people with neurological and developmental disabilities, particularly those recovering from a stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury (concussions) and spinal cord injuries.
