Sheriff’s Office Investigates Attempted Robbery at Sterling Family Dollar

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted robbery reported about 7 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Family Dollar store on Enterprise Drive in Sterling.
According to an LCSO release, a man walked into the store, demanded cash and showed a handgun to the clerk. The cashier was unable to open the cash register drawer and the suspect fled the area.
Nothing was stolen and no injuries were reported.
The suspect was described as a light-skinned, black or Hispanic man. He was wearing a black
ball cap with “New York” on the front, a black t-shirt and blue jeans. The case is
pending.
