Sterling Man Killed Sunday in Crash on Route 7

A 23-year-old Sterling man was killed in a two-vehicle crash July 29 at Route 7 and City Center Boulevard.
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Jose Rosas-Mendez lost control of his Toyota and crossed the median on Route 7 about 11:12 p.m. July 29. The Toyota collided with an oncoming Pontiac. Rosas-Mendez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Pontiac was transported to a hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries. Two passengers of the Toyota also were transported to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
LCSO investigators are not sure what caused Rosas-Mendez to loose control of his vehicle and are seeking additional witnesses to the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator S. Allen of the
