Sterling Woman, 82, Dies After Crash, Complications of Pre-existing Condition

A Sterling woman died two days after a crash June 7 at South Sterling Boulevard and West Maple Street.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Dorothy A. Cooper, 82, was the the passenger in a minivan that was involved in a crash about 2:15 p.m. involving a Toyota Corolla and a school bus that was not transporting students at the time. The  van entered the intersection with a green light when it was struck by the Corolla, which was driven by Farhad Shinwarai. The bus was struck as a result of the other crash.

Cooper and the van’s driver were transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries. According to authorities, she died June 9 due to complications from the crash and a pre-existing medical condition.
