Suspect Being Sought in Connection With July 29 Shooting in Ashburn

An Ashburn man is being sought by authorities in connection with a shooting July 29.
Detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help to locate the suspect, whom they identified as Edgar Vargas, 30, of Ashburn. Vargas is described as a Black male, 5-feet, 9-inches tall and 185 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
According to a release from LCSO, a shooting was reported about 9:10 p.m. in the 21000 block of Green Stable Square in Ashburn. Witnesses said the victim got into a verbal argument with Vargas, who then shot the man in the abdomin. The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Vargas fled before authorities arrived.
Anyone with any information regarding Vargas’ whereabouts is asked to contact Detective A. Perry at 703-777-1021.
