Three Tuscarora Students Charged With Assault in Incident After Football Practice Oct. 1

Charges have been filed against three students at Tuscarora High School in Leesburg connected to an investigation into an assault in the school’s locker room after football practice on Oct. 1.

According to the Leesburg Police Department, charges were filed against two 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old. One was charged with sexual battery and the other two were charged with assault and battery.

“Detectives with the Leesburg Police Department began investigating the circumstances surrounding the assaults in conjunction with Loudoun County Public School officials and staff, parents, and the Loudoun Commonwealth’s Attorney,” according to a statement from LPD released Oct. 25. “After a thorough investigation and a review of the findings with the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney, it was determined that the allegations did not meet the criteria of hazing as defined in the Virginia State Code.”

The students are accused of assaulting an underclassman on the football team after practice, LPD said.
