Loudoun County Fire and Rescue will be among more than 20 agencies participating in Virginia Department of Transportation’s Northern Virginia Incident Management Open House Nov. 10 at VDOT’s district office in Fairfax.
The event will feature a crash scene with live demonstrations, public safety touch-a-truck and indoor expo. It is a chance for the public to see the latest equipment and how agencies work together in handling crashes and other emergency situations. There will also be food trucks and a special play area for kids.
Live demonstrations include:
- 10:30 a.m.: K-9 Skills, Falls Church Police Department
- 11 a.m.: Trapped Patient Extrication, Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Department
- 11:30 a.m.: Towing Recovery, Redman Fleet Services
- Noon: Drone Crash Reconstruction, Maryland Transportation Authority Police Department
- 12:30 p.m.: Tree Removal, VDOT Maintenance
Participating agencies include: VDOT, Arlington County Fire Department, Arlington County Police Department, District Department of Transportation, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, Fairfax County Police Department, City of Falls Church Police Department, Federal Highway Administration, Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Department, Maryland State Highway Administration, Maryland Transportation Authority Police Department, Metropolitan Area Transportation Operations Coordination, Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative, Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue, Prince William County Police Department, Redman Fleet Services, Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, Transurban, Virginia Department of Emergency Management, Virginia State Police, and WTOP Traffic Center.
The open house begins at 10 a.m. at VDOT’s Northern Virginia District Office, 4975 Alliance Drive in Fairfax.
