The Village at Leesburg is hosting its sixth annual Winter Ice Fest and Mega Block Ice Carving Competition from 1 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 19.
The free event features eight world-renowned ice carvers in action as they compete for prizes in the mega block competition. The Winter Ice Fest also features music, an iceless ice skating rink, cozy igloo lounges and photo opportunities with the Washington Capitals’ mascot — Slapshot.
There also will be interactive games and activities made completely out of ice. Visitors can stay warm by grabbing a drink to-go from participating restaurants or cozy up inside with event-day specials.
The ice-carving competition begins at 9 a.m. with the festival running from 1 to 5 p.m. The Village at Leesburg is off Route 7 on the east end of Leesburg.
